Shared note

Death Mr. R. j. Gorrie News of the parting of Mr. Richard James Gorrie, which occurred in the Mudgee Hospital on Monday evening, last, was rec eived with sincere regret by his many friends in town and district. About a week previous he sustained painful injurie s when thrown from a cart. Although exerything possible was done to relieve his sufferings., his health gradually deter iorated., the end coming as stated. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Gorrie, pioneer people of the district, he !ive d practically the whole of his life among stock. For a lengthy period he was associated with the staff of Messrs. Keena n Bros., the well-known Orange station owners. On relinquishing his position there he returned to Mudgee, arid ever sin ce had been employed on properties in this district, or in droving activities. A capable and conscientious employee, h e was trusted and respected by stock owners generally, and they, in particular, will deplore his untimely end. He is su rvived by the following brothers and sisters, to whom the deepest sympathy will be extended: William and Charles (Mudge e), George (Sydney), Mesdames G. Scifleet and C. Campbell (Bondi), J. Green and C. Gillham (Mudges). The funeral, whic h was attended by many old friends, took place to the Presbyteriail portion of the general cemetery on Wednesday mornin g, the Rev. G. Howland officiating. Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son carried out the arrangements.
